Injury Keep Backs the Pietersen

English All-Rounder Kevin Pietersen's recuperation from an Achilles operation has suffered a hold up after he was enforced to go again to hospital with contaminated scar tissue.

Pietersen went under the operation last month after stressed to play a full part in the first two Ashes Tests in opposition to Australia.

He had previously been ruled out of the rest of the series after annoying the long-running problem throughout the second Test victory at Lord's.

Now the England and Wales Cricket Board has established that the 29-year-old batsman has returned to hospital for additional treatment.

Pietersen had been inundated by the trouble since England's tour to the West Indies in March.

He accounted further discomfort following his spell in the Indian Premier League in April and was then enforced to miss the one-day series against the West Indies when they toured England in May.

Pietersen has been listed in England's initial 30-man squad for the ICC Champions Trophy, which begins in South Africa on September 21.
