India beat Bangladesh by 10 wickets


India beat Bangladesh in Mirpur Test, win Series 2-0

India beat Bangladesh by 10 wickets in the second test match in Mirpur, to win the two-match Idea Cup test series 2-0. Zaheer Khan ripped through theBangladesh batting this morning, claiming seven wickets in the second innings.

Bangladesh resumed from their overnight score of 228/3, but their batsmen failed to match the pace of Zaheer Khan. He added four more wickets to his kitty thistoday. Zaheer took 7 wickets in the second innings and 10 wickets in the match.

For Bangladesh, Tamim Iqbal was the top scorer with 151, while Junaid Siddique made 55. Shahadat Hossain scored 40. Their team bowled out for 312. Among other Indian bowlers, Pragyan Ojha took 2 wickets, while Harbhajan took one.

Zaheer Khan became the fourth Indian bowler to claim 10 wickets in a test match away from home. Chetan Sharma, Venkatesh Prasad and Irfan Pathan (twice) were the other bowlers. This is the first time Zaheer has taken a 10-wicket haul in any test match.

Chasing a victory target of 2, India reached the target in just two balls. Ironically, the winnings runs did not come off the bat and they were extras (byes). Zaheer Khan was declared "Man of the Match" and "Man of the Series" for taking 15 wickets in two tests.
